Related Topics:Learning Design

JISC CETIS has been active in the area of Learning Design for a number of years, supporting the development of the IMS specification and the JISC Design for Learning Programme. Curriculum design as a topic emcompasses Learning Design and also looks at broader institutional processes involved in designing the curricula, including course validation and programme specification.

There are currently two JISC programmes in this topic area, "Institutional Approaches to Curriculum Design" and Transforming Curriculum Delivery Through Technology .

JISC defines curriculum design as: "a high-level process defining the learning to take place within a specific programme of study, leading to specific unit(s) of credit or qualification."
