JISC CETIS has been active in the area of Learning Design for a number of years, supporting the development of the IMS specification and the JISC Design for Learning Programme. Curriculum design as a topic emcompasses Learning Design and also looks at broader institutional processes involved in designing the curricula, including course validation and programme specification.
There are currently two JISC programmes in this topic area, "Institutional Approaches to Curriculum Design" and Transforming Curriculum Delivery Through Technology .
JISC defines curriculum design as: "a high-level process defining the learning to take place within a specific programme of study, leading to specific unit(s) of credit or qualification."

So #edcmooc is now over, our digital artefacts have been submitted and reviewed and we all now move on. I thought it would be useful to reflect on the final submission and peer review process as I have questioned how that would actually work in a couple of earlier posts. The final submission for the […]Curriculum Design Assessment (Practice) Learning Opportunities (XCRI)

Week 5 in #oldsmooc has been all about prototyping. Now I’ve not quite got to the stage of having a design to prototype so I’ve gone back to some of my earlier thoughts around the potential for Cloudworks to be more useful to learners and show alternative views of community, content and activities. I really […]Curriculum Design e-Portfolio (Technology) Learning Platforms Learning Design Data Visualisation Learning Analytics Analytics
